I designed this piece of equipment for our intaglio studio. It is known as an aquatint box for creating tones on a printmaking plate. This is an innnovative design that utilizes a closed system of air currents for the distribution of rosin on to the plate surface. It simultaneously minimizes the amounts of rosin that escapes into the classroom.

The hoods were installed by myself and our shop technician. It provides an excellent way to evacuate the fumes created from our more volatile processes.

Much work has gone into the design and flow of our studios. Several years ago, we had moved the entire printmaking operations from second floor to third.

This is our largest lithography press. I personally disassembled it and moved it from our second to third floor. I had to build a system of pulleys and hoist to lift the parts.

Several new pieces of equipment acquired by screen process are the spray booth and the halogen exposure unit. These are not present in this particular photo. We hope to redesign the layout of this classroom. The most important construction will include an enclosure, which shields the noise of the sprayer from the classroom.
